Dust Control Misting Systems - Wet Dust Suppression

ProbeSouth's Rotary Atomizer is a revolutionary wet dust suppression system that uses less water and power to control dust than nozzle based systems.

Our airborne dust capture systems use a water-spray technique; however, airborne dust particles are sprayed with atomized water. When the dust particles collide with the water droplets, agglomerates are formed. These agglomerates become too heavy to remain airborne and settle.

Our ProSorb atmospheric cleanser, when used with the Rotary Atomizer, can increase dust absorbtion by up to 400% Click here for details

Why the Probe Rotary Atomizer is better:

The Rotary Atomizer is a low pressure, no-nozzle misting system that produces a spray which covers a remarkable 90 feet by using a spinning head to produce millions of microscopic droplets of water -- up to 238 billion from a single liter -- that creates a fine mist which is much more effective and uses only a tiny fraction of the water and electricity.

Why Dust Control?

After dust is formed, control systems are used to reduce dust emissions. Although installing a dust control system does not assure total prevention of dust emissions, a well-designed dust control system can protect workers and often provide other benefits, such as-

  • Preventing or reducing risk of dust explosion or fire
  • Increasing visibility and reducing probability of accidents
  • Preventing unpleasant odors
  • Reducing cleanup and maintenance costs
  • Reducing equipment wear, especially for components such as bearings and pulleys on which fine dust can cause a "grinding" effect and increase wear or abrasion rates
  • Increasing worker morale and productivity
  • Assuring continuous compliance with existing health regulations
  • Proper planning, design, installation, operation, and maintenance are essential for an efficient, cost-effective, and reliable dust control system.

Typical Applications for Dust Suppression include:

Barge and Ship Load-Out Facilities
Asbestos Abatement
Coal Dust
Conveyor Drop Points
Fly Ash Control
Mining
Earthwork
Quarries
Foundry Dust
Grain Silos
Aggregate Plants
Tub Grinders
Cement Plants
Bulk Powder
Dust Generating Equipment

Simply put, the technology behind the Rotary Atomizer Dust Control System is far superior to any spray or nozzled based system on the market. Many dust producing industries have dismissed spray / mist dust control systems in the past, simply because the dust produced is so fine, the spray has little effect. The unique Rotary Atomizer system spins the water into an incredible 238 billion droplets of water per liter, capturing particulates in the area far more effectively that nozzle misting systems. The Probe uses less power, (110V AC) less water and can be used with our Aironaut™ line of odor control and pest repellant products for many different applications.

But don't think just because the Atomizer can handle such small particles that larger jobs are out of it's league. On the contrary, with the Probe line of dust control products any industry that requires dust control can benefit from this new technology. Large particles of dust, grit, glass and sand are 'captured' by the water droplets propelled as far as 30 meters from the Probe. Using the oscillating option, a very large area can be dust controlled, odor controlled and cooled off, all at the same time!
